El Verano Students show GREAT progress!!

The results for this year’s AYP (the Federal Government’s measure of student progress) and API (the State’s measure of student progress) show that we have made substantial growth in our subgroups and that we are on the right track!

The API is what we call a “growth model” as it looks at whether students are making progress (towards being proficient) from year to year. The goal is for all “subgroups” to reach an API score of 800. Additionally, both measures break down our student populations into subgroups, labeling them as “White,” “Hispanic,” “Socio-economically Disadvantaged,” etc… These labels are given to us as a way to look at how well each subgroup is succeeding.

This growth is simply fantastic; we couldn’t do it without the support of our El Verano School Community. It is through dedicated efforts by students, staff, parents and community members, that we are continuing to move our students towards proficiency in math and language arts– we thank you whole-heartedly! We’d like to share our API results:
